specializing in weddings for all of Hawaii + San Diego California Aloha - My name is Gaylin. I am originally from Orange County, CA yet moved to this island in the sea in 2018 . Growing up very much immersed in outdoor activities such as hiking daily with my father I definitely fell hard for all of Maui’s beautiful scenery. Having lived here for six years now there is still so much yet to discover and I feel forever grateful to call this place home base.
Growing up creative arts of all kinds was a large part of shaping me into who I am today. As a young child through my teenage years I dreamed of becoming a world renown painter, ballet dancer + tap dancer, pro soccer player + basketball player, show jumper for horseback riding, participated in theater musical productions, children’s book writer, and famous violinist - overall I bit off as much as possible in my early years . Though all of that may sound chaotic it was quite the journey of getting to dip my toes in everything. One hobby that remained constant was my love for taking photos. My father was an avid film photographer capturing his life full of adventures and showing me the importance of reliving a special moment through an image. Wearing overalls that had torn hems and grass stains as I frolicked on adventures I always had several disposable cameras shoved into my oversized pockets where I was well known at the local Sav-On waiting to get my paper envelopes overflowing with my captures.
Though my love for photography carried on through high school into college I chose to keep it as a hobby and majored in Marine Biology as my career choice. In 2015 is when I became introduced to the world of commercial photography. Brand photography opened up doors for editorial photography where my photos were published and displayed online + in Barnes & Noble as well as newsstands ( a surreal feeling for sure).

This new adventure of brand/editorial photography brought me a huge appreciation of capturing the details - However, though my love for my style team was great there is something I find hard to put into words about capturing something that involves a connection with clients such as lifestyle sessions or weddings. Thus began my new photography journey when moving to Maui as a full time lifestyle and wedding photographer.
Spoiler alert I will gush over your gown, flower choice, etc. and tear up during the first dances + speeches. My heart feels so full and my creative cup gets to overflow when documenting weddings. With the many paths I thought life would take me I could not imagine not being a photographer where I have the honor to help preserve these moments in life forever.
